The Perfect White Shirt

White t-shirts are the basic staple that everyone happens to have in their wardrobe. Anything as plain as a white tee screams simplicity and edginess. It’s a safe choice for the minimalists, streetwear junkies, or anyone who likes to keep things simple. Americans have adopted a cozy lifestyle that remains both stylish and trendy. Though the white tee can vary from fabrication to price point, it’s best to find what works for your pockets. Investing in basics is a process that most people overlook. When you’re looking for the perfect shirt, find what works for your body type and what makes you feel comfortable. A few brands that I personally admire when it comes to construction and quality are Uniqlo, Carhartt, and Frank & Oak.

The oxford shirt is man’s best friend and another classic staple that transcends your outfit from casual to businesscasual. Oxford shirts are constructed by using a basket weave pattern creating a unique fabric that makes it easily recognizable. Some oxford shirts are constructed differently depending on the designer. Ralph Lauren and Gitman Brothers are some of the earliest pioneers of the American oxford shirt. Gitman Brothers are American made so the construction process is more intense than any other American brand. Scotland popularized the oxford shirt by producing their own fabrics which transformed the design elements in shirting. Oxford shirts are great for both the business field and casual Fridays.

Dress shirts were a really important piece of dandyism during the early Renaissance and Dandy period in Europe. The quality of your dress shirt is important for style purposes. You want to find a dress shirt that fits your entire body type. If you’re a much bigger individual with a stocky build, then go with regular fit or something that has a wide collar, wide armscye (armhole), and a split yoke (back of shirt) that opens up in the back. If you have a solid build, then a slim fit option can work for you. There’s an abundance of dress shirts out there, but you always want to find a brand that caters to your build and gives you comfortable mobility.
